PROJECTS
GÖZELER DIVERSION
WEIR
AND HEPP
Gözeler Diversion Weir and HEPP Project is located in Genç District of Bingöl Province in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The project, which will be developed on the Murat River, will contribute 362.76 GWh in meeting the annual energy demand of Turkey.
The body of the diversion weir is planned to be constructed as a fill while the spillway and the water intake structures are planned to be reinforced concrete. Its height from the thalweg and fill volume will be 24.00 m and 2,100,000 m³ respectively. The reinforced concrete spillway structure has a discharge capacity of 4,240 m³/s.
In the Gözeler Project, the powerhouse with a total installed capacity of 140.85 MWe is designed adjacent to the weir body, and it consists of 3 main units and 1 small unit.
With a total crest length of 1,240 m, Gözeler Diversion Weir and HEPP will be one of the largest diversion weirs and run-of-river type HEPPs by crest length in Turkey.
